Furcifer pardalis, Ile de la Réunion

The panther chameleon (Furcifer pardalis), more commonly known as "endormi" is native to Madagascar. Introduced to the island Ile de la Réunion in the 17th century, it has gradually become one of the emblems of Réunion, building strong reproducing populations. Since February 1989, it has been a protected species.  The introduced specimens resemble the original population from Nosy Be.
