Chamaeleo calyptratus, California

Following the erratic records of single recorded specimens in the San Diego area, an obviously breeding population is now present around Cook's Park, San Juan Capistrano.

The northernmost record at Windy Hill Preserve was a deceased yet gravid female, not excluding the possibility of a breeding population there.
