Rhampholeon cf. temporalis W Usambara

A new record of the pygmy chameleon Rhampholeon cf. temporalis has been documented in the West Usambara Mountains, far outside its previously known range in East Usambara. Four individuals were found during a night survey in humid montane forest, suggesting the species' distribution is broader than assumed. Because R. temporalis is endangered and often confused with R. viridis, accurate field records are crucial. This discovery highlights the importance of continued surveys in Tanzanian mountain forests and may influence future conservation priorities for these highly localized chameleons.
