Kinyongia fischeri is one of the rarest reported Two-Blade-Horn-Chameleon species in the African continent. Described as first of all by Reichenow 1887, named after German herpetologist working in Hamburg, Johann Gustav Fischer (1819-1889).
There are following similar species in E Africa:
K. boehmei (Taita Hills)
K. matschiei (E Usambara)
K. multituberculata (W Usambara, feral in Karen, Kenya)
K. tavetana (Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru)
K. uluguruensis (Uluguru)
K. vosseleri (E Usambara)
There is still a series of undescribed taxa from this group on various mountains in Kenya and Tazania.
