Emerald Flames and Crimson Stripes: The Diego Suarez Panther Chameleon

The panther chameleons of Diego Suarez, at the northern tip of Madagascar, are among the most visually arresting of all regional morphs. Males in this population exhibit a dazzling palette that sets them apart from their counterparts elsewhere. Their bodies shimmer in vivid green tones, overlaid with a bright yellow wash that illuminates their flanks and head. This radiant background is dramatically interrupted by dark red to maroon markings, forming bold stripes and patches that intensify their striking appearance. The interplay of yellow, green, and deep red creates a morph that is both flamboyant and unmistakable, reflecting the extraordinary diversity of Furcifer pardalis.
