A Panther Chameleon was diagnosed with subcutaneous Filaria infestation.
The animal was applied wholistic sedatives and local anesthesia and immobilized.
A 1,5mm skin incision was made.
The Filaria worms were carefully extracted as quickly as possible.
The Filaria worms were up to 16cm (6.3in) long and "well fed".
The Filaria worms show low pathogenicity but big invasions lead to exhaustion.
Extraction leads to relief, unfortunately, more worms are present intraperitoneally.
