Female Chameleon Inspection After Egg Deposition

02/05/2025

Once female chameleons deposit their eggs, it is imperative to care for both the eggs and the female.

It is necessary to chose the incubation mode for the eggs.

It is crucial to ensure that the female's body cavity does not have any retained eggs, as this can lead to serious health complications.

It is puzzling why many people stress the female by transporting her in a box for many hours to a veterinary office, exposing her to unnecessary stress and potentially harmful X-rays or ultrasound waves, just to pay hundreds of dollars for results that can be obtained in ten seconds with minimal stress at home.

Please watch the video that easily describes how to immobilise the female and palpate with two fingers within ten seconds to check for any remaining eggs. Only when any complications are encountered, a VEQT call is justified.
