International Chameleon Day Is TODAY

The 2nd International Chameleon Day, celebrated on May 9, 2025, highlights the remarkable diversity of chameleons and raises awareness about their conservation needs. Initiated by Wildlife Madagascar in 2024, this annual event brings together researchers, conservationists, zoos, and schools to promote education and advocacy for these unique reptiles. Chameleons, known for their many unique features, face threats mainly from habitat destruction. The day encourages people to appreciate chameleons and support their protection.
Despite the unfortunate coincidence with the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, we proudly celebrate the 2nd International Chameleon Day today. Let us send our best wishes to Chameleonkind on this occasion and wish peace for all of Mankind across our planet!
